Airshows are a fantastic day out for the whole family, there really is something for everyone, whether you a fan of speed, engineering innovation, or are more suited to all the activities on the ground.
The organisers go all out to ensure that the day is as action packed as possible, with aircraft from all over the world conducting amazing feats in the air, complimented by the vast array of aircraft on the ground, allowing the opportunity to view some of the most advanced technology available up close as well as a host of stalls, entertainers and parades on the ground.
Known as one of the world’s biggest military aircraft shows The Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford, is renowned for the diverse range of aircraft involved in the show, this prestigious event was also the location for our future monarchs’ first public engagement, when Prince George visited in 2016, where it also gave the first air show display of the worlds most advanced fighter jet ‘Lockheed Martin's F-35B Lightning ‘. Up to 24 different countries will be displaying aircrafts and showing the amazing skills which have taken many years for the pilots to attain, pilots are also available to answer questions and chat about the aircraft on the ground while the 7 hour spectacular takes place above.
The Scampton Airshow is held at RAF Scampton, which is the home of the Red Arrows and is just outside the historic city of Lincoln, the 2017 event will be a celebration on the 70th anniversary of the US Air Force, which have played a huge part in supporting and assisting the UK in the last 70 years, to mark the occasion the Thunderbirds will be travelling from the USA to perform at this special event.
