Coach breaks to Matilda

When Matilda the Musical made the move from Stratford Upon Avon to London’s West End in 2011 it became an instant smash hit. Fast forward a few years and it seems we’re still captivated by Roald Dahl’s gripping story about this little girl.

Adapted for the stage by prolific writer Dennis Kelly and featuring a deliciously silly musical score from Australian comedian and lyricist Tim Minchin, Matilda follows a young girl who discovers that it’s ok to use your mischievousness and cruelty to good effect.

She feels she is nothing but a nuisance to her selfish parents who scoff at her love of reading and would rather spend time in front of the television, ballroom dancing and doing dodgy business deals than spend time with her.

Life at school is equally difficult for Matilda, where the evil Miss Trunchbull wallows in striking fear into her students and fellow teachers, in particular the ultra-shy Miss Honey.

When Matilda discovers she has telekinetic powers she decides it’s payback time for the dastardly adults and sets about correcting their wicked ways with her vivid imagination!

If you loved the book, you will fall in over with Matilda all over again. This charming stage show is full of wonderfully mischievous fun and brings all the magic of the book to life.

Whether you’re seven or 70, Matilda is a real treat. Secure your tickets to this brilliant musical today with Caledonian Travel.
