Amsterdam is a city famous for its canals, culture and bohemian lifestyle. With something for everyone and plenty to do, the capital of the Netherlands is a sure fi re way to kick start a fantastic holiday.

Zaanse Schans
Here you’ll find yourself back in the period that lay the foundations for all things Dutch, from wooden clogs, to windmills, to tulips; the beautifully preserved buildings that decorate the region are shining examples of how The Netherlands have been consistently home to an array of charming architecture.

Whilst Amsterdam may be the capital of the Netherlands it’s The Hague where the government meets. Fortunately for us, with a nearby beach resort and some brilliant museums, landmarks and shops, The Hague is so much more than Dutch politics.

Vankleef Distillery
This traditionally run distillery has opened its doors to the public, as they demonstrate the amount of work required to create a carefully brewed bottle of liquor. As one of the oldest distilleries in The Netherlands they have an archive of everything from recipes to century’s old distilling equipment. This visit is a fascinating look behind the scenes of your favourite tipple.

Once a retreat for artists like Picasso, Volendam is now more famous in The Netherlands for its seafood and colourful seafront. The village is much more traditional, and arguably, more authentic in appearance and style than the international Amsterdam.

It’s diffcult to talk about Edam without thinking of the cheese that has become so well known across the world. Edam may have taken over the globe but it all began in the Dutch town with the same name. With a rich history that doesn’t always revolve around food, exploring the old town of Edam is something you won’t forget too soon..

The accommodation on this departure has changed and will now be based at the Hotel De Rijper, Eilanden. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. All other aspects of the tour remain the same RC 22/1
