The Terracotta Warriors
A rare opportunity to experience one of the world’s greatest archaeological discoveries, Liverpool’s World Museum has been given the privilege of exhibiting a small selection of the 8,000 life size terracotta warriors, discovered in China in 1974. Built to defend the tomb of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, the terracotta army was believed to protect him on his journey to the afterlife, up to 700,000 workers were involved in their construction and this exhibition is a showcase for some of the rare items discovered, many being displayed in the U.K. for the first time.
